LUKE HOTSYNTH
Synth keyboardist and backing vocalist of the “STEAM BAND” from the beginning, Luca Cappi, a thoroughbred Milanese, had an excellent musical ear since he was a child, which allowed him to start playing various instruments present in the house as a self-taught person, from the legendary Bontempi electric organ to the German vertical piano of the early 1900s, from the recorder to percussion, from the acoustic guitar to the harmonica and the melodica, in addition to a year of three-piece whistle school.
He was lucky enough to spend his adolescence during the legendary 80s, marked by waves of musical creativity, especially Anglophone but also Italian, and in those years he participated, as a spectator, in hundreds of memorable concerts. Thus was born his desire to play live, initially with his classmates from the Limbiate Agricultural Institute, forming the Cover Band “SINTHAXX”.
Despite having married very young and having three children, he continued to cultivate his passion for electronic rock music, purchasing some synth keyboards that are now considered vintage, but still work well. He then returned to perform live with the rock cover band “THE SNORT” in 2009/2010, then in 2011 for 2 years with “MADAME SADOWSKY – Tribute to New Wave”, performing 36 times in various locations in northern Italy. After that, he played in the dance cover project “ATELIER 80”.
Around 2015 he met FabryGore McMillan, with whom he shared a passion for the ’80s SynthPop genre (in particular that of the British Depeche Mode), who proposed him to participate in the founding of a musical group, which could enrich his original project in English, reaching an ever-growing audience.
Luke Hotsynth accepted the proposal with enthusiasm, so that, together with guitarist Andy Zambo and other musician friends, who have partly changed to today’s lineup, in the autumn of 2015 the “Flying Train” of “FABRYGORE & THE STEAM BAND” finally took off.
